프린스가 1983년 2월 9일에 발매한 싱글이며 그의 5집 앨범 1999의 두번째 싱글로 발매되었다.2. 상세
밤샘 작업을 마치고 레볼루션 멤버인 리사 콜먼(Lisa Coleman)의 차에서 졸다가 아이디어를 얻어 작곡한 곡. 결국 잠은 못 잤다고 한다. 성관계를 자동차로 비유한 노골적인 묘사 때문에 논란이 되긴 했지만, 이전의 프린스 노래에 비하면 세련되게 다듬어진 편이다.
빌보드 핫 100 10위 안에 들어간 첫번째 프린스 노래로, 이 곡 하나로 프린스는 엄청난 성공을 거두었다. 2001년 쉐보레에서 이 곡을 광고에 사용하였다. 이 곡의 뮤직 비디오는 마이클 잭슨의 Billie Jean과 함께 MTV에서 지속적으로 방영되어 인종차별의 벽을 무너뜨리는데 공헌하였다.
