1. 개요
마이 케미컬 로맨스의 정규 1집 앨범. 줄여서 Bullets로 많이 부른다.인디 시절 다듬어지지 않은 음악의 매력을 느낄 수 있다. 다만 아무래도 메이저 데뷔 이후의 앨범보다는 유기적으로 연결되는 완성된 느낌은 많이 부족한 편. 잘 알려지지 않은 사실이지만, 어떤 형식이든 컨셉앨범의 형태나 스토리라인을 가지고 있는 MCR의 다른 앨범들과 마찬가지로, 첫번째 앨범에도 나름의 스토리가 숨어있다고 한다. 가사를 보다보면 호러영화 등에서 많은 영향을 받았다는 점을 느낄 수 있다. 이후 성장을 거듭하면서 이 당시의 스타일과는 많은 변화가 있었고, 아무래도 미숙한 부분이 많은 앨범임에도, 다른 앨범과 비교해서도 이 앨범을 선호한다고 말하는 골수 팬들도 꽤 있는 편이다. 거칠게 전달되는 날것 그대로의 감성이 그대로 묻어나는, 처절한 느낌이 매력인 앨범이라고 여겨진다.

뮤직비디오는 일본 영화 오디션의 스토리를 차용하여 만들어졌다. 예전에는 영상을 그대로 사용한 것으로 알려지기도 했는데, 그게 아니라 스토리를 따와서 비슷한 장면들로 구성한 것이라고 한다.

4. 여담
- 앨범의 속지에 보면 제라드는 Thanks to에서 당시 사귀던 여자친구를 지칭하는 것으로 보이는 Kat에게 널 죽이는 노래만 만들어서 미안하다며, 마지막 노래로 만회했길 바란다고 적고 있다. 이때 당시 사귀던 여자친구는 2집, 3집 때까지도 함께 한 것으로 보이나, 3집 활동 중 혹은 녹음 중으로 추정되는 때에 헤어지게 된다.
- 디스크에는 앨범을 불법복제를 하게 될 경우 일어날 상황을 경고하는 문구가 적혀있다. 원문은 다음과 같다.

- Demolition Lovers의 경우, 총 길이 6분 2초로 MCR이 작곡하고 발매한 모든 곡 중 가장 길이가 긴 곡이다. 인디 시절 이후에 라이브를 한 적이 거의 없어서, 많은 팬들이 괜찮은 상태의 제라드가 부르는 라이브를 들어보고 싶어했던 1집의 숨겨진 명곡이다. 위의 개요에서 언급한 처절함이 가장 강하게 느껴지는 곡이라고 할 수 있다. 22년 미국투어중 드디어 라이브가 나왔다!!
- 이 시절의 라이브 영상들은, 전부 제라드가 술을 먹지 않고는 공연을 하지 않았던 시절의 라이브이다. 제라드 뿐만 아니라 다른 멤버들도 상당히 취해있는 상태에서 공연을 한 적이 대부분이라고 한다. 굉장히 소규모 클럽에서 관객을 코앞에 두고 노래부르는 영상들이 꽤 있는데, 메이저 때와는 꽤나 다른 분위기를 느낄 수 있다. 보면 거의 내일이 없는 느낌으로 노래하는 제라드를 볼 수 있는데, 실제로도 이 당시는 미래에 대해 암울하게 생각했던 시기였다고 하고, 아마 그런 방식으로 계속 공연을 지속한 것이 이후 목 상태에 많은 악영향을 주었으리라고 예상된다. 이런 방식으로 술에 취한 채 공연하는 행태는 2004년 Summer Sonic을 기점으로 제라드가 술을 끊을 것을 결심하기 까지 지속되었다.

911테러를 목격하고 나서 밴드 결성을 결심하게 된 계기는 잘 알려져있는데, 해당 곡은 테러에 대한 것으로 MCR로서의 최초의 곡이다.
