Ariana Grande의 정규 6집 리드 싱글.2. 발매 과정
2020년 상반기에는 6집으로 컴백할 수도 있다는 떡밥만 존재할 뿐 밝혀진 게 아무것도 없는 상태였다. 그러다가 10월 23일 날, 리드 싱글을 발매한다는 소문이 돌기 시작했고, 아리아나가 소셜 미디어에 공식적으로 글을 올려 확정되었다.[5]2020년 10월 17일, 소셜 미디어에 슬로우 모션 동영상을 게시했다. 처음에는 p, o만 치는 영상이었지만 일정 간격으로 영상을 수정하며 사람들이 단어를 유추하게 만들었고, 결국 리드 싱글의 제목이 positions인 게 밝혀졌다.
2020년 10월 21일, 싱글 커버를 공개하고 15초짜리 스니핏을 공개했다.
